ABOUT JOHN

John C. Parkin has been teaching about how saying ‘F**k It’ can help for more than 10 years. His F**k It books have sold more than 500,000 copies and been translated into 24 languages. On Facebook alone 1.7 million people follow his daily F**k It words of wisdom.

His latest book, ‘F**k It – Do What You Love’,
released in January 2016 is another bestseller. He walks (and sits and lies down) his talk: he does what he loves, often on the beach, in Fano, Italy.

ABOUT THIS F**K IT DO WHAT YOU LOVE RETREAT

A recent Gallup poll revealed that 70% of people in work in the USA didn’t like their jobs.  And that doesn’t mean that 30% ‘like’ their jobs, just that they don’t ‘dislike’ them.  So what proportion would ‘love’ their jobs? 5%? Less?

That means that most people spend most of their time doing something they don’t enjoy. And all of those people have something in common – they have limited time alive on this planet.  As do we all of course: life is short, and thus how we spend our limited time is of critical importance.

I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer to spend it doing stuff I love.  Not just outside work hours either – yes, during the weekends and evening, but also during the weekdays… I’d prefer to make a living, and make a life, from Doing What I Love.

If we don’t (Do What We Love)?
Well, apart from pissing away our precious time doing stuff we don’t like:

  • we’re more likely to be unhappy (what we love is what makes us happy, after all)
  • we’re more likely to be sick (picture a time when you really hated something, and how you felt)
  • we’re less likely to be successful (bring to mind the most successful person you know, do they love what they do?)…

THE HUMOROUS WAY IN WHICH YOU PUT ACROSS CONCEPTS MAKES THEM MEMORABLE. YOU CREATED A SAFE AND LIGHT SPACE FOR SOME VERY DEEP HEALING. D.T., LONDON

…This retreat is a week away, in the delicious setting of this palatial estate near the beach, to rediscover your mojo.  This is a luxurious opportunity to step back from your everyday life and find out what really makes you tick, what turns you on, where your passion really lies, what’s your ‘thing’.

You’ll learn that when you’re back in touch with your passion (and that might be found in a variety of things) you’re happier, stronger, healthier… and more successful.

This is a week of exploration when you’ll learn (and that often means ‘remember’ too) what it’s like to live like that – permanently ‘in your element’.

You’ll find that it’s also the best relaxation practice you can do (try doing what you love and being tense), it’s the best health practice you can do (imagine the effect on your health of feeling no stress or discontent or pressure) and it’s the best way to do whatever you want in this life.

There will be practical tips too: how to do less of what you don’t like and how do more of what you do like.

There’ll be the chance to share ideas with the group on how you could imagine doing more what you love… whether that’s doing that Zumba class three times a week, or becoming a Zumba teacher.

You’ll also discover, through powerful meditations, that combining Loving What You Do with Doing What You Love, makes for a killer combination in life-transformation.

And that is what this is about: if you can do a combination of bringing your inherent passion to whatever you do, and do more what makes you passionate – Your Life Transforms.  Full-stop.

ABOUT VILLA CATTANI STUART

Drive off the main coastal road between the bustling towns and beaches of Pesaro and Fano on the Adriatic Riviera, and you enter a pastoral idyll of rolling Italian hills.
Just 2 km up a winding single-tracked road, you find the palatial magnificence of Villa Cattani Stuart.
 villa-strip-3
From our first visit to this unique villa last summer, we could feel that it represents a bridging of different worlds:
  • From the busy-ness and activity of those nearby resorts to the tranquility of inland Italy.
  • From the comforts of the modern hotel to the delicate elegance of the 17 century villa.
  • From the lofty grandeur of this aristocratic seat to the reality of its gentle and humble owners: the Tomassini-Guidi family.
  • From the deep and evocative feeling of the past to the light and holiday quality of the present set-up, with the pool and other facilities.
So you will be staying in the modern (but still elegant) 4 star hotel that sits next to the 17 century villa in these historic grounds of Villa Cattani Stuart. And you will have breakfast in the breakfast room of this hotel.  For lunch and dinner, we will go to a charming local trattoria in the village (and it’s just a 5 minute walk).  Except for one meal, when we’ll be visiting another (and rather spectacular) local town.
And you will feel lady / lord of the manor as you wander around the breath-taking grounds and gardens of the Villa: there are tree-lined groves, a lake, the formal gardens.  There is a large pool sitting beneath the old villa, where you can swim and lounge by, enjoying the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and coast.
And the beach is just 2 km away – so you can cycle there, or walk (though it’s a way), or get a bus from the village down to Pesaro, or share a car or taxi with other guests (some guests might have their own or a hire car).
We are so happy to have added such a stunning venue to our range of Italian retreats this year.  And we suspect you’ll love and appreciate it as much as we do.

Travelling to this venue (in brief):
We will give you (very) detailed instructions once you book (in your ‘holiday pack’), but, briefly…
We will invite you to a private Facebook group so that you can talk to other guests who are coming on the same week, and thus meet and share taxis, etc.. if you fancy.
Most of our guests fly to Bologna, as it has the most flight options (though Ancona is a little closer).  You would then take the train to Pesaro (1 to 2 hours depending on train).  And take (and usually, share) a taxi up to Villa Cattani Stuart (about 15 mins).
In other words, it’s all pretty straightforward (and rather exciting).

  • Palatial magnificence of the villa, gardens and grounds 92%
  • Feeling like a crowded summer resort 2%
  • Your potential to bridge your past with the present, just like this villa 97%

in SINGLE ROOM

The single rooms are in the 4 star hotel that sits next to the 17th villa in the luscious grounds of Villa Cattani Stuart. So you have all modern comforts in the context of the grandeur of Italian aristocracy. The prices are all-inclusive, full-board, so: John’s teaching, the room and breakfast in the hotel, and lunch and dinner in the village’s charming trattoria.

in SEMI-SINGLE ROOM

The semi-single rooms are in the original 17th villa of ‘Villa Cattani Stuart’. We describe them as ‘semi-single’ because you will have a room all to yourself, then share the bathroom with another room in the ‘apartment’ (whereas in a ‘single’ room you’d have an ensuite bathroom). The prices are all-inclusive, full-board, so: John’s teaching, the room and breakfast in the hotel, and lunch and dinner in the village’s charming trattoria.

with TWIN or DOUBLE space

The twin / double rooms are in the 4 star hotel that sits next to the 17th villa in the luscious grounds of Villa Cattani Stuart. So you have all modern comforts in the context of the grandeur of Italian aristocracy. Many of our guests come to a retreat on their own, then share with another guest (of the same sex) in a ‘twin’ room. Those booking ‘double’ rooms come to a retreat with another person, and tend to know them rather well. The prices are all-inclusive, full-board, so: John’s teaching, the room and breakfast in the hotel, and lunch and dinner in the village’s charming trattoria.

with TRIPLE SPACE

Many of our guests come to a retreat on their own, then share with others. In this triple room, you share with two others (of the same sex). You’re certain to make a bunch of new friends on a F**k It Retreat, and your ‘roomies’ in such a room tend to be even more special. The prices are all-inclusive, full-board, so: John’s teaching, the room and breakfast in the hotel, and lunch and dinner in the village’s charming trattoria.

IF YOU’RE FEELING IT, IT’S TIME TO SAY TWO MAGIC WORDS (‘F…’ AND ‘I…’) AND JOIN THE WEEK… SEE IF WE STILL HAVE SPACE…
